Villa Korbhun Kinbua: Virtual Tour

Open 360 Viewer Villa Korbhun Kinbua The peaceful atmosphere of Villa Korbhun Kinbua brought comfort and calm to my time in Chiang Mai. I appreciated being immersed in the traditional Lan Nah influence and the beautiful craftsmanship of the building.    The balcony and walkways were peaceful and shrouded in greenery. I often forgot how close to the street we were.  The location is fantastic. It is situated on a quiet street, not too far to downtown by bike, and only a walk away from a lively market on certain nights.    I had multiple interactions with the staff and family owners. They were incredibly charming, endearing, and hospitable. I am so grateful to have met them, and enjoyed such a wonderful stay.  Do you have a space you want preserved or shared? I would love to bring the same energy and care in capturing what is important to you. Let’s create something meaningful together.

Ascension Wellness Photoshoot

Capturing Brightness I had the pleasure of capturing the surface of what it means to visit Ascension Wellness: Bangkok. This well-nurtured space gives ample room to breathe and reflect. The towering glass windows provides a clear view of clouds passing by. The heavenly sight of the blue sky is a perfect backdrop for what this wellness center represents. Clarity, and peace. They too provided perfect natural light for me to capture the what makes this place so special. Krishine is the practitioner of this space. She lead our photoshoot with a request “The brighter the better”. With ample sunlight, and moderate cloud cover, this was very doable. Having been familiar the results of her work, I felt that this request was a great metaphor for impact this wellness center has on peoples lives. Krishine’s storied career as a healer comes with a deep understanding of energies, and the power of setting an environment. So we decided to begin with her tending to the space. I noticed something was off while taking these candid shots. I showed her the shots and we immediately agreed. They did not feel authentic. In the moment, as the subject, Krishine was not setting the environment for energy work, she was setting it for a photoshoot. I asked if it would be possible for her to set it as if she were preparing for actual work. She required a subject herself, to prepare her space for. This is how I ended up becoming the subject of her healing work, and making a cameo in this photoshoot. Monitoring the frame, and being present during the sessions came easy to me. Preparation is the key.  Configuring the camera for the correct parameters for the upcoming scene gives you physical space to work within. Further, interval timers allowed me to capture moments unconsciously, and when a key moment occurred, I was able to subtly use my remote trigger to capture it.   Krishine shared her joy upon delivery of the photos. I shared my appreciation for the healing service and education I received during the shoot. It’s an honor to help support a center with the intent to heal and empower others. And seeing the photos I took scattered across her site, fills me with joy and accomplishment. Stone Tower: Lynn’s Landmark

Atop the highest point in Lynn, the historic Stone Tower offered an interesting subject to 3D scan with photogrammetry. This capture was performed with a DJI Mini 4 Pro and 254 photos shot in less-than-ideal weather. Despite high winds, drained batteries, and harsh sunlight, the result is a detailed 3D mesh that preserves the tower’s detailed masonry. The Process Drone-based photogrammetry makes it possible to capture large structures that are difficult to document with handheld cameras. The DJI Mini 4 Pro’s high-resolution camera (8064×6048) provides exceptional detail in each image, enhancing the quality of the 3D reconstruction. While the sunny weather felt great on the skin, it posed challenges for scanning. Harsh shadows on the building were captured in the images and carried over into the 3D model. This “baked-in” lighting may be acceptable depending on the output. When used in scenes with different lighting conditions, it may reduce the realism depending where the model is placed . After generating the initial scan, I apply both automated and manual techniques to optimize the 3D model. This process significantly reduces file size and loading time while preserving the original visual detail when textures are applied. The result was a 99.12% reduction in face count, and a 99.37% reduction in file size.  About the Tower This tower was built on the highest point in Lynn MA in 1936. It’s purpose was for fire observation. The tower stands about 48 to 50 feet tall with a cube-shaped base and an octagonal structure topped by arched windows. On clear days, you can see all the way to Boston from the top! The interior of the Stone Tower may be visited from Tuesday through Saturday, between 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m, if a park ranger is available. It may also be visited separately by appointment.  Bringing the Tower to Life in 3D Capturing the Stone Tower was not just a technical challenge; it was also a great opportunity to connect with locals. The process sparked genuine curiosity from morning hikers passing by. Several people stopped to ask about the drone and the scanning process, showing how engaging this technology can be.  If you are interested in learning more about photogrammetry or have a structure you would like to see brought into 3D, feel free to reach out.
